NYRA Looking to Recruit Staff for Saratoga Race Course

As the 2022 summer meet at Saratoga Race Course draws near, the New York Racing Association is once again looking to provide working opportunities in the region. This week, the association announced that it will be hosting a job fair this month. The recruitment event starts on Thursday, May 19, 2022, and it will be a three-day thing and hire individuals for its summer racing season.

Through the years, the Saratoga Race Course’s annual summer meet has provided the employment of over 2,000 full-time, part-time, and season workers. And according to an independent report by the Saratoga County Industrial Development Agency, the annual activities of the racetrack bring an economic impact of more than US$240 million to the nine-county Capital Region.

Many Available Positions

NYRA confirmed that the three-day job fair will start on Thursday, May 19, 2022, and it will conclude on May 21, 2022. The recruitment event will be taking place at the Saratoga Race Course’s 1863 Club on May 19, 2022, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. On the next day the event starts from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on the last day starts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Individuals who want to apply at the event must enter through the clubhouse gates at the intersection of Wright Street and Frank Sullivan Way. Candidates must be at least 15 years old, and provide New York State Certified Working Papers. In addition to that, they must also provide a photo ID as well as a Social Security card or I-0 alternative.

Some of this year’s available positions feature hospitality ambassadors; guest services; cashiers; parking attendants; ticket scanners; Bets Squad representatives. The association also looks to hire white caps/ushers; box office; betting clerks; parking attendants; technology interns; security guards; porters; cooks; waitstaff; bussers; merchandise clerks; concessions supervisors and cashiers; cleaners; and warehouse workers.

NYRA informs that some of the roles are for positions at the association, as well as Integrated Staffing, Levy Restaurants, Mazzone Hospitality, AmTote International, Dyehard Fan Supply, AllPro, Union Square Event, and many more. The 2022 summer meet is on schedule to open on July 14, 2022, and through September 5, 2022.

This year’s summer meet is slated to run for 40 days, and it is set to feature 77 stakes events and a total of US$22.6 million in purses. The schedule is highlighted by the 153rd edition of Grade 1, US$1.25 million Runhappy Travers which will be held on taking place on August 27, 2022, and the Grade 1, US$1 million Whitney, on August 6, 2022.

Gift Cards Return

At the end of April, the association revealed that its NYRA Bets Gift Cards will officially make their comeback to this season’s Triple Crown series. This year’s competition will kick off with the 148th edition of the Kentucky Derby on May 7, 2022. The fan-favorite cards are now available to purchase across Stewart’s Shops, and each contains a US$50 deposit which can be used on NYRA Bets accounts.
